ABOUT

Hey there, y'all, and let me be the very first to welcome you to the DUSTYRibs site!  I'm Caitlin, the humble author here, ready and willing to share my stories and probably crazy ramblings with all of you!

Who am I?  Why, thanks for asking!  First and foremost, I am loved by the greatest Father in the entire world! I am a daughter of a King, (which I guess t e c h n i c a l l y makes me a princess, right?).  Despite my brokenness, unworthiness, and daily failures, He has redeemed me and calls me chosen. How did I get so lucky? I chose to give Him my life and decided to follow Him. That's the good news - ANYONE can be adopted by my Heavenly Father, and I would LOVE to have you as a part of the family, if you're not already!

As far as my earthly accolades, I am blessed beyond measure with what I call a unicorn-of-a-man for a husband, Ross. What I mean by that is that he literally should be classified as a mythical creature, worthy of admiration and awe, but I'm not actually crazy, he thankfully doesn't have a horn...and, he's a real human.  By the grace of God, he's also mine!

Seriously, could I be any luckier?  I highly doubt it.  He's the love of my life, my very best friend, the one I am free to be myself with, and who loves me in spite of my shortcomings. He's the person I dream with, the man who executes all my insane home and design projects without a ton of complaints or exasperation, and my baby daddy.  For real, y'all, God did me a solid when He created my husband! Oh, and did I mention he's ridiculously good looking/ruggedly handsome? (Drops the mic.)

One of the greatest adventures we've ever decided to take together was the journey to becoming parents. James 1:17 tells us, "Every good and perfect gift comes from above."  Well, we know that to be absolutely true, because our beautiful boy, Whitten Harvey graced us with his presence in 2014.

I think it's safe to say that both Ross and I thought we understood what love was. We didn't.

Thanks to our precious son, though, we definitely understand the weight of what pure, transcendent, unconditional love feels like, and man, have we been living ever since!

I'm pretty sure the only reason we didn't get to take home the trophy for CUTEST BABY ON THE PLANET is just out of respect and consideration for everyone else, but we're cool with it.

He is our special boy, and while being a parent hasn't always been easy, I can absolutely understand why folks like the Duggars have 19 kids. Can't say we're going to be giving them a run for their money, but I support them and totally get it.
